(Back-to-school pamphlet)
Hello and thank your for taking the opportunity to learn more about the wellness program.  My name is Dan Stover (not to be confused with my older brother Eric Stover, the music teacher!), and I am the wellness teacher at West Broad Street Elementary School.  I’ve been teaching in the district since 2002.  I serve as the District Elementary Wellness Coordinator, a position that allows me to work closely with our administration on behalf of the students and families served by the schools in our district.  I currently hold a Bachelor of Science Degree in Kinesiology with a concentration in teaching (Temple University, 2001) and a Master of Science Degree in Educational Development and Strategies (Wilkes University, 2005).  I am pleased to be a part of your child(ren)‘s educational experience during their elementary years when many healthy living habits can be established.  Wellness has most likely changed in philosophy and current best-practices since you were a student; My goal is to foster an environment filled with developmentally-appropriate activity in which every student can succeed at a personal level in the pursuit of lifetime wellness.  Best wishes to you and your family for a healthy school year.
I’d like to extend an invitation for you to come in and observe/participate with your child during a wellness class.  Please contact me in advance to ensure we follow proper district protocol for your visit.
