Woodhouse Eaves Baptist Church: Room Hire

Terms and conditions:

1. The church retains control, possession and management of the accommodation and the user has no right to exclude the church from the premises.

2. Smoking and gambling are not allowed on the premises. No booking is to be in conflict with the purpose of the church.

3. The user is responsible for all damage to the accommodation or any of the church’s fixtures or equipment and agree to notify and reimburse the church for any breakages and damage.

4. The church accepts no responsibility for injury or loss to persons or property arising out of the use of the accommodation and the user undertakes to indemnify the church against any claims for which the church is not responsible. The user will not be covered by the church insurance and is advised to provide adequate insurance cover if needed.

5. The accommodation may only be used for the purpose and during the period indicated on the application submitted to the church. The user must allow for set up and clearing up time in their booking request. Given reasonable notice, the user may be required to transfer to an equal alternative space elsewhere within in the building.

6. No changes must be made to the central heating controls. No additional heating devices are to be brought onto the premises without the consent of the leadership of the church.

7. After use, the premises must be left in a clean and tidy condition. All furniture and equipment must be left in the same place as at the hiring of the premises. The floor must be swept/vacuumed after use and the rubbish bin liners emptied into the main dustbins.

8. You may use the drink making facilities in the main kitchen, the meeting room or upstairs kitchenette but please provide your own milk and take this away with you at the end. When using the kitchen for meal preparation please provide and take away your own tea towels.

9. The hirer must ensure all doors and windows are secure and lights and portable heaters turned off before leaving.

10. Equipment, furniture or other articles may only be left on the premises with prior written agreement. Church reserves the right to charge an additional fee for such a provision.

11. The user will comply with the church’s health and safety policy and will ensure that all those using the premises are aware of appropriate safety procedures. The user must familiarise themselves with the position of fire extinguishers and fire exits at the commencement of the hire. All fire exits must be kept clear. There is a telephone in the office for use in an emergency. 01509 890195

12. Where premises are to be used by children or vulnerable adults, the user agrees to comply with the government’s guidelines set out in the document: ‘Working together to safeguard Children 2015’.

13. The church may terminate this agreement immediately at any time if there is a breach of these conditions by the user.
