FAQs

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I have to attend the entire event?

No. The format is drop-in. We have set-up "data spotlights" if you are interested in a specific topic. It is up to you what time frame you would like to attend.

Do I need to have exact geographic coordinates for my data?

No, but it would be helpful. Please be prepared to provide some general idea of where the organisms can be found.

What types of organisms are you looking for?

For our purposes we would like to focus on organisms that are ecologically significant; areas where you may have viewed a rare species, but haven't seen it recently, and so on.

Here is an example of organisms:

  • breeding populations of 4-toed salamanders or barking tree frogs or common egrets
  • populations of sundial lupine or Long Leaf Pine
  • populations of locally rare butterflies or dragonflies
  • small rock outcrops, sand ridge areas, important vernal pools or other local but important habitats

Do I have to register?

No, but we prefer it so we can have a better idea of interest and flow of people throughout the day.
