Denyce Graves

Boston University invited mezzo-soprano Denyce Graves to give a masterclass.
Ms. Graves performs all over the world and has become one of the leading opera singers in the world.
For more information about Denyce Graves, you can visit her website.
Fortunately the whole masterclass (2.5 hours!) is available on Youtube!
Denyce talks a lot about breath support and 'space'/resonance. She talks about singing with an open ribcage, 'spinning' the tone, letting tones 'blossom', singing on a 'v' sound to even out the breathflow, etc.

When you watch this video you will discover that breath support is one of the most important elements in classical vocal technique. Without it there is no chance that your voice will reach its full potential when it comes to quality of the sound.
