2012 VTI Gathering

July 10, 2012

An open Letter to the Alumni:

Sorry I have not written anything since the reunion but I was hanging back to read the many positive reviews of the reunion, and how so many of you appreciated the monumental efforts of the ones that, so freely, and generously, gave to make this landmark event a success.

By your personal involvement, on line or in person, it is more apparent now than ever before that the little "tech" school in north west Indiana did remarkably effect, and change, for the good, so many peoples’ lives.

We, the Valpo Tech Alumni, by our actions, became the movers and shakers of our generations’ technological rise, and yes, we were successful in so many ways, and in so many areas of endeavor.

Maybe the brick and mortar of our beloved alma mater might pass into history, but as long as the many great memories of VTI live in our hearts, it will always stand.

“Scientia et Applico”

Thank you and G-d bless the Alumni of Valparaiso Technical Institute.

VTI Gathering

This Saturday – June 30th

*UPDATE*

Walt & Bryant & Gene (and others) have been working to get the grounds and building ready for this weekend –

We’ll meet at Dodge Hall @ 9:00 (Valpo time) –

Around 9:30 (Valpo time) we’ll go to the “Round The Clock restaurant” (217 East Lincolnway in Valpo) http://www.roundtheclockrestaurants.com/  where Bryant has made arrangements for breakfast  -

We’ll then return to VTI for a tour and sharing of information complete with stories on the history of the building & VTI & experiences while attending school & update on the alumni -

They’ve added a tent + chairs + a grill for brats & dogs (if anyone wants to bring a side dish that’d be appreciated) for the afternoon’s camaraderie -

Bryant is planning a bon-fire for later in the evening for a time of chitchat and amiable meandering of thoughts and ideas –

We look forward to seeing “you all” and reconnecting -

BTW – those of you that are “Hams” ‎PCARC http://pc-arc.net is allowing us the use the K9PC 146.775 MHz (-) (131.8 Hz PL) Repeater for "Talk-in" -

Valparaiso Technical

Institute Alumni

"It's official" Saturday June 30, 2012 @ 9:00 AM CDT (Local Valparaiso) Time
Dodge Hall @ VTI, 1150 West Lincolnway, Valparaiso, IN Recently an Interest Inquiry was sent out to the 92 (at that time) registered VTI members on this site. As of today (Thursday April12th we had a response of "13 YES and "6" MAYBE. Through the courtesy of Bryant Mitol a "Gathering" complete with a tour of the facility will be held on the VTI grounds. There's no agenda - just a very informal "Gathering" of interested folks. Bryant Mitol and Paul Brubaker Sr (PSR Bru) will also share their stories about the last days of VTI and their efforts to save the school. Well do a group photo or two -

Bring your memorabilia -

Bring a story to share -

Bring a friend - There are no fees required for the "Gathering". A big thanks to Victor Ghose (class of 1969) for getting the "ball rolling" for this event. A special "thanks" to Lowell Katz (class of 1968) and Paul Brubaker Sr (Psr Bru) (class of 1976) for their efforts on spear heading the "Gathering". This is a time of celebration.

Note: The Porter County Amateur Radio Club will allow us to use the K9PC

146.775 MHz (-) (131.8 Hz PL) Repeater for "Talk-in" -

Please thank them for allowing us the privilege -

Thanks –
