The Papago Archery Association along with the City of Phoenix have been awarded a grant to construct permanent shade structures at the Papago Archery Range in Phoenix, AZ. The Papago Archery Range was constructed in 19XX and since then has hosted numerous state and local tournaments including the Arizona State Games. It is also home to the Papago Archery Association and Sun Devil Archery. In addition it is used by numerous local archers looking to hone their skills or just for relaxation. The Papago Archery Range is a beautiful facility situated right in the heart of Papago Park up against the mountains. The one thing it lacks compared to other local ranges is shade. Shade is crucial during the hot Arizona summers, and adding permanent shade structures will benefit all users by providing much needed relief from the sun and increasing utilization of the facility year-round. The grant awarded by the Arizona Game and Fish Department (AZGFD) is a matching grant. AZGFD will match each dollar raised up to $30,000 making combined total of donations $60,000. Therefore our goal is to raise $30,000 in individual donations in order to maximize our matching grant. |
