Beginning October 26, 2013, Targeteers Youth and Family Archery will move to their new home located at:

Shoot Right Education and Training Center
2127 S. Priest Dr, Suite #404
Tempe, AZ 85282

When: Saturday mornings
9:00am -10:00am for the beginning class
10:00am -11:00am for the advanced class

What we do:
The Targeteers Beginning Youth and Family Archery program teaches youth and families the fundamentals of archery in a hands on approach under safe, supervised conditions. Youth are taught basic shooting skills; including proper form, current technique and safety on an indoor archery range.

What you need:
Don’t buy anything (yet)! All Arizona JOAD clubs provide nationally certified archery instructors and the proper equipment necessary to get started in archery. All you have to do is show up! It does help if you wear tight fitting clothing and closed toe shoes. Girls should tie their hair back. Bring a water bottle! Archery provides a positive environment for a young person to learn a variety of life skills. Among them: patience and responsibility, self discipline and personal accountability, ability to focus and perform under pressure, learn to follow and implement a scientific method (shoot, evaluate, hypothesize, re-shoot, analyze, etc.), good sportsmanship. It can help to develop a sense of accomplishment and a  positive self image. Younger archers will practice and reinforce math skills. And, as youth grow and mature, shooting can help to develop physical strength, balance, and stamina.
