ABFAA to Host Two Shoots in October

The Arizona Bowhunter and Field Archery Association (ABFAA) will be hosting two shoots in October.

INTERNATIONAL ROUND - SATURDAY OCTOBER 15th
An International Round will be held on Saturday October 15th at Usery Mountain Archery Range.  The International Round consists of shooting 3 arrows per end at 10 different targets.  The targets are spaced at distances from 20 yards to 65 yards in 5 yard increments.  Archers shoot through the distances twice for a total of 60 arrows.

DUEL IN THE DESERT TRIALS - SUNDAY OCTOBER 16th
On Sunday, October 16th, the ABFAA will be hosting the Duel In The Desert Trials at Paseo Vista Archery Range.  The Duel in the Desert is a long standing tradition between Arizona and California Archers.  Each state will choose a team of 12 Compound Archers (6 Male, 6 Female) and 12 Recurve Archers (6 Male, 6 Female) to compete against one another in the Duel in the Desert on November 12-13.

The Trials Taking place on October 16th will determine which archers will represent Arizona in the Duel in the Desert.  The Trials will consist of a Metric 900 round (5 ends of 6 arrows shot at 60M, 50M, and 40M on a 122cm Face).  There are no age categories, the top 6 archers in each category will be chosen to represent Arizona a the Duel in the Desert on November 12-13 and will receive a Duel in the Desert team shirt to wear at the tournament.
