Do I have to be an engineering major to join the organization?

No! In fact Engineers Without Borders wouldn't be a successful organization without the help from several areas of expertise. Several skill sets are needed to maintain the chapter. If you have a desire to give back to the community and want to know how your major can assist with philanthropic work just send us an email

How much are chapter dues?

Chapter dues are waived for your first year and each following year is only $20. These dues are used to pay the annual chapter dues owed at the end of each year to EWB-USA. To pay your dues simply click on the "Donate Now!" link on the left side of the website and make a $20 payment to the general chapter fund for the University of Memphis. 

Who is eligible to travel abroad on the assessment/implementation trips?

Spots are limited, so each individual interested in traveling will be evaluated based on how active he/she is in the chapter, as well as how much money each individual raises. Each individual traveling must raise a minimum of $500. 

Can I help with local projects without being involved in overseas trips?

Of course! Check out our events page to look up upcoming events. If you are interested in participating just send an email and let us know! 

What overseas projects is the UofM-EWB chapter working on?

Currently, our chapter is planning an assessment trip to the community of Yarvicoya in Bolivia. This trip will assess possible water sources to help create a potable water distribution system for ~325 people living in the community.
