Why You Should Support Our Organization
The Need
The community of Yarvicoya, Bolivia is an indigenous community in the Andes Mountains located in the county of Bolivar, which is one of the 30 poorest counties in Bolivia. This puts Yarvicoya in one of the poorest counties in the poorest country of South America. Yarvicoya currently has no potable water distribution system.
The Response
The EWB-USA University of Memphis chapter has been selected to address this issue by developing a potable water distribution system. In July 2012, six students and two professional mentors will travel to Yarvicoya to gather information pertinent to designing a water distribution system, as well as build relationships with the local population.
How You Can Partner With Us
In order to successfully complete this project, we need your help. We ask that you help us in two ways. 1) Be an advocate for us. Spread the word about Yarcicoya, and raise awareness for the need of clean water in the world. 2) Consider supporting us financially by clicking the "Donate Now" button on the left side of this webpage.
