The various lockdowns, probably mean no University Team Racing until the new year.

We almost got started with the Twisted Tube - but that was canned on the Friday, with forecasts of 50mph gusts.

However, the RYA were able to run the National Match Racing Finals at Queen Mary SC.

The competition consisted of two rounds with initially Group 1 and Group 2 then moving on to Gold and Silver Leagues. At the Group stage Ted Blowers looked good, as the only competitor with a 100% record and winner of Group 2. The winner of Group 1 was Robbie King with a 72% record.  Strong winds on Saturday provided a big delay, they were only on the water for around an hour and a half.

The Gold and Silver stages got very competitive and with no spinnakers winning the start was crucial. Mark Lees put in a good performance in the Silver League to win that with a 100% record. In the Gold league there was a four way tie for second place but the overall winner was Andy Cornah who was only beaten once, (by Christian Hamilton). So it is Andy Cornah who is the 2020 National Match Racing Champion.
