Athletic Director’s Report – Mrs. Karyn Holmes
We are all up and running with Fall sports. The calendar this year dictated that all sports started the same week because we “lost” a week with the way the calendar fell this year. So a lot happening at the same time……..
Karyn highlighted each team:
• Soccer is currently playing at Swinehart against Dakota. JV soccer started off strong. They were 8-0 going into their game against Dakota, but they came up short.
• Varsity Football is 2-0 to start off their season. They have Henry Ford II at home this Friday
• Varsity Volleyball won the Birch Run Tournament this past weekend. They play at Fraser on Tuesday and at home this Thursday.
• Varsity Swim opens at home this week
• Cross Country is doing well
• Tennis is doing well

New Business
• $10,000 raffle is our biggest fundraiser. Letters will go out in November. Let Tara Powrozek know if you would like to put on the wait list. The raffle will be held on February 6, 2020 at the Shelby Gardens

• Euchre fundraiser is tentatively set for March 27, 2020 at the Shelby Gardens

• Coaches wish list: all coaches have received the email requesting their wish list by September 24, 2019

• 50/50 raffle needs more volunteers. Let Tara Powrozek know if you would like help. The band will be selling 50/50 at the home game this week to raise funds for the band (9/13/19). Candace sold at our first game and we gave away $174. She will continue to help sell.

• There will be a ribbon cutting ceremony at halftime at this week’s game (9/13). The Superintendent and board members will be in attendance to dedicate the new field.

• Homecoming concession needs help. Lisa Fromm is coordinating the volunteers. It is the booster’s responsibility to staff concessions at the homecoming game. Typically, alumni and/or their parents come back to help. Please reach out to family and friends to volunteer. Historically, concessions are very busy at the homecoming game.

• Cheer will be doing a fundraiser tailgate. Please see a cheerleader/cheer coach for more information. Everybody is welcome to participate for a small donation(fee).

• Tailgate this Friday starting at 5pm in the corner of the parking lot. Bring a dish to pass. Tents & tables will be set up! Everybody is welcome to join in the festivities.

• Becky Keen requested a donation for the SANP (Senior All Night Party) per DD McCollom (unable to attend the meeting). Melissa Radtke Sharp stated that a budget will be set for the booster club in October. At that time we will take a look at our budget for this donation.
