UTICA HIGH ATHLETIC BOOSTERS

MEETING MINUTES: DATE September 11,, 2023

ITEM: Approval of Previous Minutes: 

Kim Misuraca made a motion to approve, and Cynthia Karrandja seconded that motion. The minutes were unanimously approved from the May 1, 2023 Utica High Athletic Boosters meeting.

Budget: 

Through July 2023, the Athletic Booster account is at $121,182.75.

Athletic Director’s Report:

Fall sports are up and running. We have had 3 varsity games thus far. This week is Homecoming Week. Homecoming court will be done at half-time this year. A new attendance policy was implemented for all sporting events. All students must show their Student ID, and all younger students need to have an adult with them at the game. All four of the high schools are expected to be on the same page. Some schools are strictly using Go Fans only for payments, but for Utica High School we will continue to allow for cash payments. Scheduling facilities has been challenging. Troy does not have full control of scheduling Swinehart. For the 3 gyms in Utica there is calendar software that can help. Calendar Wiz has a subscription fee, and the coaches would be able to log in and book the gym for certain times. The cost is $250 for a year and allows for up to 40 coaches to use the application. Kim Misuraca made a motion to approve $250 for the year for Calendar Wiz, and Sandy Edwards seconded that motion. The Athletic Boosters unanimously approved the purchase.

New Business:

 Friday is the Homecoming football game, and we are in good shape with concession support. Christy said we still need help with 50/50 raffles. Tara clarified that the proceeds from 50/50 goes to all sports teams. Lisa asked for help with merchandise sales for half time at the homecoming game and Christina Kronenberg volunteered. Lisa noted that Ed Fromm has run the merchandise for the last few years and gets the items from Clothing Graphics. The $10K raffle event is on February 1st, 2024. The Euchre event is still TBD and Tara is inquiring if April 5 th or 12 th will work. We have an open secretary position and Cindy Karrandja and Holly Geottes both put their names in for the running. Tara asked everyone to text her their selection within 30 minutes of the Athletic Booster ending. Tara announced after the meeting that Holly Geottes has been voted in as secretary for the Athletic Boosters.

Old Business:

For the blanket fundraiser, we have sold 120 of them so far (out of a total of 150 in hand). Once we sell all it will be a $2100 profit. It took 6 weeks to come in and if we order more, Kim recommended ordering earlier.  For the Athletic Boosters website, it is currently getting updated. Meeting Adjournment: Cindy Karrandja made a motion to adjourn, and Christina Kronenberg seconded that motion. The meeting ended at 7:57pm.
