WEBELOS Outdoor Adventure Camp

Hi Webelos Scout! Can you imagine spending the day with your parent, and your WeBeLoS Den, making new friends? learning first hand about the Boy Scout way, all while earning WeBeLoS and Arrow of Light requirements? How about making and cooking your food in the outdoors then eating it? Is your Patrol strong enough to win the Patrol games? As if that wasn't enough, you will be entertained by a traditional Boy Scout Campfire program, and have the option of sleeping under the stars with your parent. If you have ever wondered about your future in scouting, or about Boy Scouts- this event will help you understand what Boy Scouting is!

Parents: Our secret special recipe for a special day exposing your boy to Boy Scouts is really Boy Math:

Outdoors + Games + Advancement + Cooking + Camping +evening Campfire program

= learning about Boy Scouts while having a blast in the outdoors! (it adds up to the WeBeLoS O.A.C!)

Attached below you will find detailed information about the upcoming 2016 event.

  • The O.A.C. Event Flyer. a one page event overview. (a great one page promo piece to print and share with your Den)
  • The O.A.C. Participation Manual: the official manual for the event, covering all the In's and Outs. Concerned Parent this is for you! Participating family- you need to read this!
  • The O.A.C. Registration Form: pack friendly group sign up sheet and directions for the necessary pre-registration so that your limited spot is reserved. (The event can accommodate individuals, however, we follow the Patrol Method- and Groups (think Den/Packs) are in the same patrol)
  • And the required BSA part A & B health form for each participant (yes that means the PARENT too) The HEALTH FORMS ARE NEEDED THE DAY OF THE EVENT( submitting with payment & Registration = Express Check in!!)

A few important points to remember...( if you have a question the answer is in the Participation Manual)

  • This is a closed event, open ONLY to WeBeLoS I and WeBeLoS II Cub Scouts.
  • To ensure quality programming this event is only open to the first 80 WeBeLoS
  • This event is run on the BSA ADVENTURES guidelines (WeBeLoS and Arrow of Light requirements introduced 2015-2016)
  • Due to the nature of the program, and BSA guidelines; a Parent is REQUIRED for each overnight WeBeLoS, and strongly suggested for the day camp. Each Boy MUST have a parent -or- approved guardian ON SITE even during the day-no exceptions.
  • To simplify and reward those who sign up early, early registrants receive discounted pricing, best overnight campsites and "first" pick of activities. Patrol placement, and Adventure choices are awarded on a first come/ first served basis.
  • It is highly suggested that your den make the same (or similar) choice of adventures. That way all your boys stay together all day in the same Patrol or group and have much more fun.
