May 2014 -- Happy Birthday brother Rick.

Well, Spring has arrived. The bees are very active bringing in pollen and some nectar. We just set up six more hive. As you can see they see they are very happy in their new homes.

We had a great vegetable year in 2013. Canning took priority as we had an abundance of tomatoes, peppers and squash. Figs and pears were also abundant and preserves filled our shelves. Hope is eternal and we are looking forward to much of the same this year.

Our chicken flock has shrunk to about 6 hens now. 5-6 eggs a day. Wonderful
