Bicentennial News to Date...

posted Sep 20, 2019, 6:56 AM by Debra Giroux

Fireworks are booked, we have some Shriners joining us in our parade, the music is booked for the street dance with Ray Stafford, we have a resident putting together a playlist of music from the 1920's forward to be played throughout the day of our event.  We are interviewing people for information and taking photographs to be placed in the new program we are creating.  We have a Chili-Chowder-Pie contest set for February 15, 2020 which is Etna's actual birthday.  Also on that date, February 15, 2020, we will have a birthday dance at Mossy Ledge Spirits.  The committee is working on what food will be offered during the event, more parade and parking details, and the schedule of events.  Stay tuned!

Bicentennial Plans are growing!

Your committee has music booked for the Bicentennial Street Dance.  There will be music playing throughout the day on the grounds featuring music from the 1920's up through to today. We will dig up the Time Capsule and be prepared for new items to go into another capsule.  The committee has booked fireworks for later in the evening.  The actual incorporation date is February 15th, so we will kick off the year with a chili-chowder-pie cook-off contest with a dance later that evening.  As part of the dance, we are having a dress contest.  Not who has the prettiest dress, but who is best dressed per category.  Men are included in this.  We've been working on the program and the parade details and many other details.  Don't forget our breakfasts the 1st Saturday of each month.  We'll draw the winner of the Yankee Candle Bundle and have tickets for the king sized quilt for sale.  See you there!
