RESPONSIBILITIES

Being part of the music program at Tierra Linda is a privilege that comes with a lot of responsibility.  One of those responsibilities is your attendance at all of our performances.  EVERY member (whether you are 1st or last chair) of the program plays a very important role.  One way to assess your progress is to perform in front of a live audience.  This is the grand payoff for all the hard work you do in class day in and day out.  Performances are not optional unless otherwise noted.

GRADING

Kids are graded on punctuality, appropriate attire and behavior.  They are not graded on their musical talent or performance quality.  Please make sure to do your best NOT to book family vacations or outings on these dates.   If you are not able to attend a concert which takes place in the evening or at night, I will allow you to do a make-up project so that you can still earn a grade in place of the concert.  If you need to miss a concert during the school day for an unexcused absence, there will not be a chance to make up the grade as school attendance is of utmost importance.   (Please stay home if you are sick, contagious, etc. We'll work on your make-up project when you return.)

APPROPRIATE CONCERT ATTIRE
Boys: White dress shirt or polo shirt, black slacks, black socks and dress shoes.
Girls: White dress top or blouse, black skirt (covering the knees when they sit) or dressy pants (NOT yoga pants or leggings) and black dressy shoes.
