Perfect Location to host a Small Wedding ★ ★ ★ ★ ★
We rented the lodge along with the cabin and reception barn for our small wedding. We had around 35 people in attendance with the majority staying in either the cabin or reception for the extended weekend. It was the perfect spot to host an intimate wedding with so many extras included. We went hiking, saw wildlife, went hot tubbing, and played yard and bored games throughout the weekend. Don and Toni were extremely accommodating and had everything you needed. Although the weather was unpredictable for our May wedding, everyone worked together well to make it work. I loved this place as well as everyone that enjoyed the weekend with us. We hope to go back in five years with the same group of people to relive this perfect weekend. Highly Recommended! - May 2016
Just as I expected: secluded and rustic ★ ★ ★ ★ ★
With a 60 degree grade hill, facing north you definitely need a 4 wheel drive to reach the cabin in winter. It was everything I wanted and expected to give my family a winter wonderland experience for the Christmas holdays. Living in Texas we would have not have had this experience. The Cabin is secluded and very rustic, with beautiful traditional furnishings. The cabin has an openess were guests can have privacy but also be in the moment with all other guests. If you're stay is long enough and experience "cabin fever" Breckenridge is a beautuful, 1 hour drive away. Should incur issues of any kind (as life does happen ) Don & Toni will go above and beyond to fix it. We had an awesome Christmas....my son's photos and videos show how much fun we had. Thanks so much for your hospitality! Your home is wonderful and all of us had a great time staying there and enjoying time with each other. The horseshoe pits got a work out, as did the trails. We all enjoyed playing a lot of cards, fishing, and sightseeing. If you don’t already have it on the list of suggested restaurants, you should add McGinty’s in Divide. Thank you both for an amazing week. We had a wonderful wedding and couldn’t have asked for more. All of our guests were raving about the ceremony and the reception. TihsreeD must have good karma. We were more than comfortable here, we were happy! We love the scale for the house the Persian carpets and the comfortable beds. Bot more than that, we loved watching the full moon rise over Pikes Peak, the sunny days, the evening outside by the fireplace, the hummingbirds and the fox, the wildflowers, the swings by the path, and the lovely breeze. TihsreeD is a refuge. The views, the quiet, the personality of the property are the perfect prescription for a weary soul, or 15! Don – you have found your calling. We can’t believe we fit 19 girls into this house with no ‘bathroom issues’!! That means this was the perfect house for our Mom’s Retreat. We enjoyed the comfy atmosphere and great space. We really enjoyed all the pleasure of this house and it was a great escape into the mountains to get closer to God. Thank you so much for opening up your cabin for us! TihsreeD is absolutely breathtaking! We enjoyed our stay so much that we are already planning our next stay. Horseback riding through the garden of the Gods was wonderful, but your can’t beat whitewater rafting down Brown’s Canyon or the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo. Those were our favorite activities. Never before have I seen such beautiful sights! Tihsreed is truly a wonderland... Waking up to snowdrifts in the morning with a cold chill to revive the soul is simply bliss. Above all, my most treasured memory will be the amazing view of Pike's Peak from almost every area of the property.
To be honest I cannot think of a legitimate complaint, but for the sake of feedback, I would have to say an investment in a newer better gas grill would be good.
Thank you so much for the opportunity to stay, at a very reasonable price. It was truly an amazing experience. P.S. The house is breathtaking and still cozy!
From Homeaway Vacation Rental Site, February 29, 2012: We had a wonderful time at our Great Girl Getaway (GGG) weekend as Tihsreed Lodge! Don Moore is a gracious host and even helped us unload our weekend “gear”. Tihsreed is beautiful and spacious. There was plenty of room for us to laugh, dance, cook and play games! We enjoyed the hot tub and outdoor fireplace. The mountain setting is beautiful and peaceful. We didn’t want to leave! We hope to make Tihsreed our permanent location for our annual GGG weekend! From Homeaway Vacation Rental Site, October 24, 2011: It is more than I could have wished for! We were looking for a week's worth of solitude and luxury and we got both at Tihsreed! The home is situated on a hill with a wonderful view of the back side of Pike's Peak. No neighbors in sight, the only sounds we heard were coyote's singing at night, birds in the day and chirps of two friendly chipmunks that ran about the rocks near the hot tub. The home is expansive and beautiful. An outdoor fireplace, an indoor fireplace and a wood stove provide a nice setting to enjoy the bottle of wine that Don leaves for his guests. We found a nice outcrop of rocks to enjoy lunch by on his 50 acres of wooded land. The home itself is modern and huge. We had plenty of space to roam inside and even play some pinball downstairs. There is a lot to do within 30 minutes drive but you also will feel miles away when staying at the home itself. Lot's of frontier type historical sites nearby. McGinty's in nearby Divide has the most awesome woodfire Pizza and it is cheap! Divide also has groceries if you want to do your own cooking and has cheap gas. Pike's peak is a must do but be prepared for cold weather at the summit. Lot's of fun activities all around Florissant. The home also provides great entertainment including whole house sound system to enjoy some Bach in front of the fireplace with all the lights off and a glass of wine to enjoy. You will find Don to be one of the nicest people you will ever meet. He is a fun guy to talk with but was also cognizant of my wish to enjoy a week's worth of being alone with my wife. He was very attentive and yet non-intrusive. He will make you feel very welcomed and cared for. All-in-all, I can guarantee you will be very happy that you chose to stay at Tihsreed. One bit of advice...this is a true plus for folks like me who have a hard time not bringing work on vacation...there is no internet onsite...so leave the stupid computer at home and truly relax! A bit of hot chocolate soaking in the hot tub looking up at the clearest night skies anywhere will make you glad you didn't bring work along. Relax and let Don take great care of you!
