SINGLE STRAND HAIR EXTENSIONS

Single Strand Extensions are a great way to create the natural look. On average 100 1GM strands of hair are used

These can be used to do a half head, 3/4 head or full head of hair and for added length, thickness, volume and texture

It gives body and movement to your hair. They come in various textures from Natural Straight, Wavy and Curly

You also have a choice of colours from natural colours to match your hair or bright colours to make a statement. If you wish to add natural looking highlights or balayage, you can do this by choosing colours a couple of shades lighter than your own hair

Single strand extensions will last 3-4months then they can be retightened for a further 3-4months

WEFTED/CLIP IN HAIR EXTENSIONS

Wefted extensions vary a bit to single strands as it comes in a long strip of hair wefted together

Wefts are easy and fast to apply making them considerably less costly than the single strand extension

They can also be used in different colours to give your hair the

highlighted look and come in straight, wavy and curly

A clip in hair piece is alot like a weft. Clip ins are a fun way to add a different look to your hair. Because they are made with human hair, they can be coloured and styled to your preference. A full head of wefted extensions is around 3-4 rows of hair.

Wefts/Clip ins attached with microrings will last 6-10 weeks then can be retightened for a further 6-10 weeks

Microring/Microbead/Microloop Hair Extension Method Explained:

Micro rings are a great method for clients who do not want their hair extensions applied using heat and melted keratin. They are very popular with first time extension wearers.

Taking a hand tool, a small section of your hair is inserted into the micro ring (a very small metal cylinder), which is pushed up to the root.

The I-tip strand of extension hair is then inserted in to the micro ring alongside your own hair. The micro ring is then sealed flat to secure the hair extension hair effectively.

Once Our micro rings are fitted, they are discreet and will not be noticeable to you or anyone else. They are lined with either a silicone or metal inner, which completely prevents slippage.

Strand by strand microring extensions or wefts/clip ins attached by the microring method available.

The Micro Ring method is popular because:

  • The fitting process takes less time

  • Permanent Hair Extensions – lasts 3 to 4 months

  • The Hair can be re-tightened to last a further 3 to 4 months, which provides cost savings

  • Removal is simple and safe

Fusion/Keratin Pre Bonded Hair Extension Method Explained

U-tip hair extensions, also known as fusion/keratin bond hair extensions, are tipped with a keratin glue.

Keratin is a protein that is naturally present in the hair which makes this a safe and natural method of applying your hair extensions.

This is fast becoming the most popular hair extension method we offer. Many hair extension technicians do not offer this method, enabling you to get ahead of your competition.

The Fusion method, using pre-bonded U tip hair, is the latest hair extension method that creates a very strong bond that lies flat against the clients head. This makes it a very discreet, long lasting, and comfortable method.

The method uses the same hair as the microring method. Once the bond is melted it is then applied to the clients hair by wrapping and then sealing with the ultrasonic connector.

The placement of U-tip extensions is similar to the placement of microring extensions

Once Our U tips are fitted, they are discreet and will not be noticeable to you or anyone else

These Extensions can last 3-4months. They can not be retightened

FAQ

What type of extensions can you get?

Microring, Microbead or Microloop hair extensions are a method of extension which involves a very small metal cylinder which is clamped onto your natural hair. Strands of hair are threaded through the ring and then pliers are used to clamp the ring tightly to the natural hair. There is no glue or heat involved.

The metal ring is coloured as close as possible to the hair itself – so it’s totally undetectable unless you part the hair and examine it. (lasts 3-4months then when they grow down, can be retightened for a further 3-4months

U-tip hair extensions, also known as fusion/keratin bond hair extensions, are tipped with a keratin glue. Keratin is a protein that is naturally present in the hair which makes this a safe and natural method of applying your hair extensions. (lasts 3-4months)

Wefted extensions vary a bit to single strands as it comes in a long strip of hair wefted together. Wefts are easy and fast to apply making them considerably less costly than the single strand extension. 4 rows of wefted hair are attached to the natural hair using microrings.

Clip in hair pieces can also be attached using this method. (lasts 2-3months then when they grow down, can be retightened for a further 2-3months)

The hair Stylistics uses can come in straight, wavy or curly 18inch to 24inch. Indian remy hair is the best quality (thicker and silkier) –European hair is very thick hair and also great quality. Chinese hair is the thinnest hair on the market.

How long do microring hair extensions last?/How are they removed?

One of the best things about this method of hair extension is that, if you care for the hair itself and have regular maintenance, they can last as long as you want.

As your natural hair grows, the attachment grows further away from your scalp which increases the risk of matting and tangling of the natural hair close to the scalp. To remedy this, every 2-4 months you should go back for maintenance depending on what you've had done. (single strands 3-4mths/clip in or weft 2-3mths)

They will open the ring and simply push it back up to its original position. The extensions can be removed the same way – the ring is simply opened and the extensions can be removed. These are one of the safest types of hair extensions due to the ease of removal and the fact that no chemicals or adhesives are used.

How much will they cost?

See our PRICE LIST full details on prices

How long do they take to be put in?

The entire process of putting a full head of extensions takes no longer than 2 hours (30minutes for wash and blow dry and 10-15 minutes to cut them in and layer them naturally with your own hair)

Can you dye the hair extensions?

You can dye these extensions as long as you use a ''colour bomb'' dye which is a semi permanent dye or a salon dye. A permanent box dye can ruin the extension hair because of the chemicals in it. Dying extension hair more than once is not recommended as dying extension hair multiple times can dry out the extension hair and ruin the overall look.

What is maintenance?

When the extensions have grown down after 2-4months (weft or clip in 2-3mths) (single strands 3-4mths) you can then have maintenance work done on the extensions and have them retightened to last you for a further 2-4mths. You should not attempt to remove extensions yourself. Always seek professional help to remove or retighten your extensions as you could damage your natural hair attempting to do this yourself .

What happens at a consultation?

A Consultation i a 10-15 minute appointment where the stylist meets with you to get your hair colour/colours and talks to you about what type of hair extension you need and/or want.

If you want the stylist to buy the hair for you, she will take a deposit to cover the cost of the hair. If you wish to buy your own hair, the stylist will tell you what colour/colours to get and how much hair to buy.

If you live to far away to come to a consultation, you can email your stylist a clear picture of your hair taken in the daylight so they can see your colour/colours, choose your colour online from Stylistics colour album (Stylistics Colours) and if necessary send a deposit through the bank

Are microring hair extensions painful?

The application itself isn’t painful at all. The following 2 nights after can be painful for some but not for others. Having tiny metal clasps close to your scalp can hurt when lying your head on a pillow but this never hurts for any more than 2 nights. The extensions loosen up a little and “settle in” after a few days itself
