Ostoja-Ostaszewski Stibor No.2

1908

Rotary-wing ornithopter-type musclecopter developed in 1908 by Ostoja-Ostaszewski, a doctor of philosophy, lawyer and agriculturalist who became one of the first aviation pioneers in Poland. The machine consisted of a large four-blade rotor designed to rotate and flap, and a vertical mast. Though human-powered through a bicycle-type transmission system, an Antoinette engine was proposed as a supplementary power source.
