The NAFE-1 light homebuilt helicopter was built by Mr. N.A.F. Edwards (hence the NAFE-1 designation) and it started life as a Bensen B-8 style gyrocopter. However, the aircraft (registration G-ASDF) was completed as a light helicopter and had an overall configuration not dissimilar to the Adams-Wilson Hobbycopter, but it was an independent design. The aircraft was completed in 1962, but damaged during early trials and further work on the NAFE-1 was halted. During the early-1990s the aircraft was restored for static display by the Cotswold Aircraft Restoration Group (CARG).
