The HLM-01 was an original design small homebuilt helicopter of Mr. Jean-Marc Ducournau and the aircraft was first flown during October 1987. The designation HLM-01 stood for Helicopter Léger Monoplace No.1 (single-seat light helicopter). Only the prototype was constructed and this had one 100hp BMW engine.
