Brown helicopter (BAPC-96)

1961-project

This was an original design homebuilt helicopter of Mr. Frederick Brown of Stanley, County Durham. The aircraft had co-axial rotors and engine was one 72hp McCulloch 4318 two-stroke. It was constructed from mainly surplus wartime aircraft parts and components and was completed or nearing completion around 1961/1962, but was never flight tested as the designer/builder passed away. The aircraft was in 1975 donated to the North East Aircraft Museum in Sunderland, UK.
