Sunday 15th May - Pentecost.

On Whit Sunday 2016 Chloe, one of our Junior Choristers, was presented with her dark blue medal ribbon by the Director of Music and the Vicar having completed the current stage of her RSCM Voice for life training scheme. The previous week Chloe sang the Soprano solo in Wesley's anthem Lead me, Lord during the 10.15am Parish Communion Service.

Chloe has worked exceptionally hard since joining the Choir a few months ago and we are all pleased to see her progressing at an excellent rate!

Palm Sunday 2016 - Sir John Stainer's 'The Crucifixion'.

On Palm Sunday this year some of the Adult Choir sang Sir John Stainer's 'The Crucifixion' during the evening Service. John Horton directed the Choir, we welcomed Chris Stubbs back to St. George's to accompany the choir on the organ and one of our Choral Scholars sang both the Tenor and Bass solos. The Service included a homily preached by Reverend Canon Elaine Chegwin Hall, Vicar of St. George's. The Service was a great success and we look forward to next year when we will hopefully be singing John Henry Maunder's 'Olivet to Calvary'.

Thanks also to Roy Buxton, Director of Music at St Thomas Becket Parish Church, Chapel-En-Le-Frith, and Ian Dayes, St. Thomas' Church, Mellor for coming to sing with the Choir for the occasion.
