League Highlights & Rink Scores

The final games have been played in this season’s Stamford & District Bowls League. In division three second place Ketton Kites, after losing 1-9 to rival promotion contenders Barnack Vikings, needed at least three points against the already decided champions Market Deeping Royals. As it was their last game of the season the pressure was on but Bob Kelman’s team stepped up to the mark with a maximum ten points win and the Kites are up to division two next season. Mid-table Greetham  scored what must be the biggest win in the history of the league, a massive 115- 17 against Market Deeping Regis who were up against it from the start playing two short. In division one Blackstones C successfully defended their title and at the bottom Bourne Woods who led at the start of the season will go down to division two along with Barnack Saxons whose captain Martyn Dennis says that after just missing out in so many of the matches he is determined that they will bounce back up again next season. Wittering go back up from division two at the first attempt and will be joined by Carlby Corgis who make it into the top flight for the first time in the club’s history.
