Computers are available to patrons on the main level
and in the children's area.
Curbside pickup will also continue to be available.
Masks are welcome, but no longer required in Slater Library.
Now is a great time to sign up for a library card!
Residents of Griswold and Lisbon age 5+ are invited to stop in
and sign up for a card.
All you need is an ID with your Griswold or Lisbon address.
Your library card give you access to books, DVDs, magazines and audiobooks as well as ebooks through Libby™, our digital platform.
You can check the available books and DVDs on our online catalog
@ slater.biblio.org or by downloading the Acorn Catalog App to your phone or tablet.
You can also call the library @ (860) 376-0024 to request the materials that
you would like to check out.
A librarian will call you back to let you know which items are available.

Wee Play is back! Fridays at 11 am.
It is a great way to introduce your children to the library!
Stop by to play with toys, check out books, make a craft
and connect with other caregivers and make new friends!
Slater Library has added 7 STEAM Kits containing books, educational games and puzzles to our children's collection! Parents and Caregivers may check out these kits for a two week period. These kits, encompassing science, technology, engineering, arts and math cover a variety of themes. Find all the details on our "Children's Department" page.

Open House Art Show: Saturday, April 15, 2023 / 3PM – 5PM
As those who come in to Slater regularly know, we display the work of local artists year-round. At this special event we welcome artists from Griswold, Lisbon, and the surrounding towns to display their work and be available to answer questions about style, color, and training. Be prepared to marvel at the talent that surrounds us as you enjoy light refreshments at this open house event.

There are many incredible predators which call our area home. We will learn which ones can be found in Connecticut and discuss the natural history, and real-life stories of these amazing creatures. Take a fun and enlightening journey through Boston Red Sox history with the author of the Ultimate Boston Red Sox Time Machine Book. This presentation by Marty Gitlin features exciting nostalgic videos of the greatest and the most fascinating players, teams, events, and moments in franchise history.
