The train ride from Cambridge to Inverness was delayed in 3 hours due to a thunderstorm and it took 12 hours in total. Scotland is the wettest region of the UK. The weather in Scotland continued to be quite rainy every day during the week we traveled from Inverness to the Isle of Skye. Rain and midges didn't stop us from accomplishing the 520 km of this mountainous ride. No bagpipes were playing around, however, we did cross some manly Scottish with a traditional skirt.
