Join the Sons of Confederate Veterans!
To you, Sons of Confederate Veterans, we will commit the vindication of the Cause for which we fought.  To your strength will be given the defense of the Confederate soldier's good name, the guardianship of his history, the emulation of his virtues, the perpetuation of those principles which he loved and which you love also and those ideals which made him glorious which you also cherish.

Lt. General Stephen Dill Lee
Commander General, United Confederate Veterans
New Orleans, Louisiana, April 25, 1906

Who can join?
Male descendants of Confederate soldiers, sailors or marines, aged 12 or older, are eligible for membership.  Young gentlemen, aged birth to 12, are eligible for Cadet membership.  Upon reaching age 12, Cadets may opt to become full members.  Cadet members pay only $10.oo per annum.  They do not pay Division or Camp dues.

Benefits of membership:
Members have the opportunity to preserve and defend the heritage and legacy of the Confederate soldiers through SCV activities at the Camp, Division, Army and national levels.

Members receive a subscription to the national magazine, The Confederate Veteran, a subscription to the Arizona Division newsletter, The Rebel Yell and a subscription to the Camp 1710 newsletter, The Vidette.  Members receive a membership certificate suitable for framing.  Cadet members also receive a membership certificate but do not receive The Confederate Veteran.

Members are eligible for academic scholarships and medical research grants.

How may one join?
To join, an applicant must submit a completed membership application form and proof of his ancestor's service to the Confederacy.  He must also list how he is related to his ancestor.
The SCV does not require birth, marriage or death certificates to prove lineage--just a simple genealogical chart showing the relationship.  Proof of the ancestor's service may take many forms.  Confederate service records from the national archives, state archives or Fold are the preferred documents.  Confederate pension records may also serve.

Dues & Fees:
Applicants must submit membership dues for the first year with their application.  Dues & fees are:
National per capita tax:            $30.00
Arizona Division dues:             $   5.00
Camp 1710 dues:                        $   5.00

First time applicants also pay a $5.00 recording fee (required by our national HQ).
