Chaplain David Barnhill represented Camp 1710 at the 2018 Federal Memorial Day ceremony at the Southern Arizona Veterans Memorial Cemetery.


Arizona Division Commander Robert Johnson (right) presented the SCV's Distinguished Service Medal to Adjutant Curt Tipton at the 16 August 2018 Camp meeting.


At the 16 August Camp meeting, Compatriot Bill Mapoles gave a program on a .69 Caliber German made musket issued to a Confederate soldier with the initials O.W.  The musket was captured by a Yankee and was on display in a GAR Hall in New York.

Camp 1710 gave a living history presentation to the Sierra Vista United Methodist Church tutoring program on 9 January 2018.  We demonstrated children's games from the 19th century.

Hopscotch was popular then as now.

Bill Mapoles explained the role of the Infantry, its weapons and equipment at Liberty School.



Members of Camps 1202, 1708, 1710, 2074 and 2096 took part in a Confederate Flag Day observance on 10 March 2018 in Tombstone.



Camp 1710 held a Confederate Memorial Day ceremony on 28 April 2018 at the Southern Arizona Veterans Memorial Cemetery followed by ceremonies in Tombstone's Boot Hill and City Cemeteries.


Camp 1710 sent a delegation to the 24th Annual Arizona Division Reunion & Convention in Safford on 12 May 2018.  (l to r) Division Chaplain Rev. Ron Cross, Division (and Camp 1710) Adjutant Curt Tipton, Division Commander Bill Long, host Camp (2096) Commander Logan Hawkins.



Compatriot Bill Mapoles (left) received the Arizona Division's Meritorious Service Award at the 16 August Camp meeting. 



 


The Arizona Division Executive Council met at the Confederate Library in Florence on 13 October 2018.  Camp 1710 Commander Donnis Davis and Adjutant Curt Tipton attended.  The Colonel Thomas Green Camp 2251 hosted the meeting.

At the grave of Newman H. "Old Man" Clanton, a CSA veteran, in Boot Hill Cemetery, Tombstone.


Camp 1710 hosted the Arizona Division's annual Memorial Ceremony at the site of the Battle of Dragoon Springs on 5 May 2018.  The only Confederate soldiers killed in action in Arizona fell here in battle with Apache warriors.

Camp 1710's entry in the 89th Annual Helldorado Days parade in Tombstone (21 October 2018).  Our entry won the President's Award.
