Soundclash is one of the last original Independent record shops in East Anglia opened in February 1991 as a essential continuation from legendary Backs Records over in Swan Lane as they continued as global independent distributors with Rough Trade and the national Cartel Collective.
The Norwich city centre shop specialises in new releases, independent and underground music from around the world on vinyl and CD and is also the frontline city centre stockist for gig and festival tickets, record boxes, bags and cases, music accessories and related products along with high quality previously loved vinyl not forgetting a few books.
Soundclash was named one of Britains best small shops by the Guardian in 2007 and offers a unique shopping experience, allowing customers to listen to vinyl or CDs in store before purchasing, offering expertise, recommendations and a high quality personalised service, selling products that are hard to obtain at competitive prices.
Soundclash is the only city centre ticket outlet for UEA LCR and the WATERFRONT venues also now stocking all EPIC STUDIOS tickets plus many local and some national events including festivals.
Independent record shops have been increasingly challenged from all sides which is why so many have gone out of business - a big thank you to all the loyal customers who understood that they needed to use us or lose us!
We have Survived three decades and three national lockdowns and long last there is some light at the end of the tunnel as many more young people are inspired with the love and passion for vinyl records, it’s so good to see the new generation so in to collecting, If you haven’t been in for a while ? or ever, come in and find out why customers from all over the U.K have come back again and again for the last 30 years!
