Our Featured Author for Reno-Sparks Pagan Pride Day 2017:
S. Rune Emerson has had a love affair with cartomancy since the late 80's, and it has been one of the major influences in his life and his witchcraft. As the founder of the Risting Tradition of American Witchcraft, he sees magic as an objective part of reality, and he views the Tarot as an example of "Art reflecting Life in exactly the right way."
His approach to cartomancy treats each deck of cards as a grimoire which teaches unique mysteries about the world, as well as magical operations for all kinds of practical purposes. Nothing But a Pack of Cards, which focuses upon the magical practices implicit in the Rider Waite Smith tarot system, is his first published work.

Public Information Release
March 23, 2014

Curious about what’s going on with our local Pagan Pride Day event? Here’s a little news!

First, we’re changing our name!
We will be operating soon as “Reno-Sparks Pagan Pride Day.” This will give others an opening to hold events in distant parts of northern Nevada as well as bring us more in line with other Pagan Pride Day events internationally. We’re excited for this opportunity to restructure and focus more locally.

So, who is “we?”
Kaylee will remain the Local Coordinator and guru, with Margie as Co-Coordinator – but Margie will be stepping up and taking the lead in 2014, so please contact her for information.
Ellyn and Nancy have joined the planning board and have taken on the tasks of coordinating the groups, vendors, media, and spirit.
The National Pagan Pride Organization has not yet announced a Regional Coordinator for the west, so all of our reporting goes directly to the “big bosses.”

The local event board is working diligently toward an event in early September at Idlewild Park. We are planning for vendors, a ritual, and a lovely day at the park. We have not set a solid date yet with the City of Reno, but we will let you know as soon as it is finalized!

Reno-Sparks Pagan Pride will be supporting the We Care Volunteers organization this year. This lovely group of people helps the homeless and temporarily housed working poor.

We will continue to update you as the year progresses.

Watch for more information on fundraisers, coat & food drives, and donation jars at a few of your favorite stores!
