Welcome to the website of the Rideau Lakes Horticultural Society (RLHS).
RLHS is a thriving organization.  Members plant and maintain municipal gardens and support all manner of horticultural activities in the community.

In 2019 it is our Society's 50th Anniversary which we will highlight throughout the year with several events.
We are also helping the Rideau District High School with their greenhouse and garden projects. Onward to the future!

We meet the 1st Wednesday of the month from April to December at the Portland Community Hall, doors open at 6:45pm, we encourage
members to come early, have some refreshments and mingle. Meetings will start at 7:15pm and end at 8:30pm.

In 2018 we encouraged our members to attend the OHA Convention in Kingston, On., and planted a pollinator garden in Portland, On.

In 2017 we hosted the OHA District 3 Flower and Edible Garden show, it was an exciting summer!

In 2016 we launched our Fruit & Nut Tree Revitalization Program for the Rideau Lakes region.

In 2014 we expanded our pollinator garden initiative, and planted two pear trees in the Township as part of our edible trees project.

2013 was a year of firsts for our Society. We planted our first community pollinator garden and saw the return of our much-loved garden tour.
