RHYTHM FANTASIES, INC. is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that strives to promote South Indian classical music and dance in a space that encourages education and enrichment through innovation and cross-cultural collaboration.

Our artistic directors have been engaged in this mission as presenters, performers, and educators, working to keep these traditions relevant to the Indian diaspora and to demonstrate how we can continue to find meaning and expression in ancient art forms.

In the past, we have presented and managed nationwide tours of artists from India along with the artists of Rhythm Fantasies, focusing on bringing them to universities and other non-traditional venues so that awareness and knowledge about Indian culture and art forms may persist among diverse audiences.

More recently, furthering our interest in engaging diverse communities, we have been directing our resources toward curating innovative and collaborative projects within contemporary performing arts spaces.

In addition to presenting and developing performances, Rhythm Fantasies runs a school of mrudangam (South Indian percussion) based on the philosophy and style of mrudangam maestro Umayalpuram K. Sivaraman, and we frequently give workshops on South Indian rhythm at prominent percussion events and conferences.
