COVID-19 Related Contributions

• Yukti Portal: Conceptualised, implemented, and monitored a web-portal to collaborate and record the efforts and initiatives of higher education institutions of Ministry of Education (MoE) in the wake of COVID-19 pandemic.

• Policy for effective delivery and management of learning resources: Involved with the hon'ble Education Minister's (EM) office to make policies and strategies to increase access to online learning resources so that every child gets access to education amidst the pandemic.

• WhatsApp Chatbot: Created the proof of concept of a chatbot that can be used by the different stakeholders, including students, teachers, and parents in order to easily access the online academic content during the COVID-19 scenario.

• Mental health-related issues: Made policy-level recommendations to the MoE office to tackle mental health-related challenges during the lock-down period.

Digital learning frameworks for India

• Researched digital learning strategies and made recommendations to the MoE office for digital learning policy and suggested short-term, medium-term, and long-term strategies for adaptation of the digital learning paradigm in India.

• Immediate measures considering the COVID-19 pandemic were also suggested in the report.

National Education Policy (NEP)

• Conceptualised a target based dashboard for NEP implementation.

• Involved in the review process and critical analysis of the National Education Policy-2020 and submitted reports to the MoE office.

• Analysed the various recommendations by experts and educationists and made suggestions.

SWAYAM & SWAYAM Prabha(DTH-TV)

• Flagship scheme of the Government of India to deliver the learning resources using digital media for both School and Higher education.

• Made policy-level recommendations for better coverage, access, delivery, and implementation of SWAYAM & SWAYAM Prabha to the HRM office.

• Recommended various policies of credit transfer through online courses for better adaptability in the university system.

• Suggested initiatives to provide incentives to the students in such a way that more students are encouraged to take online courses on SWAYAM.

• Worked out the strategies for promoting SWAYAM/SWAYAM Prabha courses and increasing the reach of the platform.

Internationalisation of Indian Education

Study In India (SII) and Champions Service Sector Scheme

• Flagship scheme of Government of India to attract international students for higher studies in India.

• Made policy-level recommendations to the MoE office for strengthening the program.

• Reviewed the SII portal and made recommendations for performance optimisation and better UI/UX.

• Explored the possibilities of collaborations with the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) to take the program to the greater heights.

• Recommended an integrated portal for international students coming to study in the Indian institutions.

Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat (EBSB)

• EBSB is the flagship scheme inspired by the ideas of the prime minister to foster national integration and celebrate the diversity of India.

• Made policy-level recommendations to the MoE office and designed a dashboard framework for efficient monitoring of activities and initiatives under EBSB.

• EBSB Hackathon: Strategised and designed the EBSB hackathon. In these hackathons, the higher education institutions of the paired states (for instance Maharashtra and Odisha) will be asked to identify one socio-technical problem from both the states and work as a team to find a solution.

• Reviewed the EBSB portal and made recommendations for performance optimisation and better UI/UX to the HRM office.

• EBSB mobile application: Suggested a mobile application EKTA (EBSB’s Knowledge Treasure & Aspirations for Akhand Bharat) for better implementation of the scheme.

Operation Digital Board(ODB)

• Made policy-level recommendations to the HRM office for better coverage and implementation of ODB.

National Digital Library

• Carried out the comparative performance review and suggested possible areas of performance optimisation to the HRM office.

• Recommended a dashboard framework for the parliament of India under Research Fellowship Scheme for improving the efficiency of the parliamentary system with an emphasis on the committee system.

• The objective of this research proposal is to carry out an in-depth analysis of the working of the upper house with the aim to-

  • • Outline an objective and inclusive set of indicators to assess the efficiency and performance of the upper house (Rajya Sabha) and its committees;

    • Suggest measures to standardise the functioning of various committees of Rajya Sabha;

    • Deliver an integrated and holistic dashboard to monitor the comparative performance of various committees and the house on a real-time basis.
