PhD Thesis

I completed a PhD at the Paris School of Economics and at the Economics Department of Paris 1 Panthéon-Sorbonne University between 2010 and 2014. My advisors were jointly, Prof. Katheline Schubert and Prof. Michel De Lara.

My dissertation is untitled "Interactions between aquaculture and fisheries and the viability approach to risk management inharvested ecosystems". It examines the economic, social and ecological impacts of the expansion of aquaculture, and its implications for the capture fishery sector. A particular attention is given to the influence of consumer preferences on the interactions between both fish production processes. In my thesis, I also addresse the complexity of managing biological interactions between fisheries and aquaculture, in practice. A theoretical management framework is put forward, to deals with risk, ecosystem dynamics and conflicting sustainability objectives.
