Dr. Ravikant Joshi is an Urban Finance, Urban Governance and Urban Management specialist. Since 2019 he is working as an Advisor to Urban Management Centre - Ahmedabad

Dr. Joshi worked as a Team Leader - Techanical Support Unit to National Urban Livelihoods Mission, Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs - New Delhi for the period July - 2017 to July 2019.

Dr. Joshi worked an Adviser for Urban Practices to CRISIL Risk and Infrastructure Solutions Ltd. - Mumbai for the period 2002 to 2017. Again from September 2019 he is working with CRISIL as a free lance consultant.

Dr. Joshi has worked as a Short Term Consultant (STC) for multilateral agencies like World Bank, Water & Sanitation Program - World Bank Institute, ADB, USAID, DFID, UN Habitat and for various national/ state level organisations on urban issues.

Dr. Joshi conceptualised, Designed and Implmented Accrual Based Double Entry Accounting System Reforms and Budget Reforms in 169 Urban Local Bodies of Gujarat through City Managers Association of Gujarat.

Dr. Joshi has served as Chair Professor for Urban Management in Saint Joseph College of Business Administration – Bangalore. Currently he is visiting faculty for urban administration, urban finance, project management subjects to Master of Urban and Regional Planning Program of M S University – Baroda and for Urban Public Finance to School of Urban Planning and School of Habitat Management - CEPT University, Ahmedabad, Symbiosis School of Economics - Pune.

Dr. Joshi has delivered lectures/has shared his experience as a guest faculty at several national institutions for training municipal officers, elected representatives and urban activists.

Dr. Joshi has worked with various civil society organisations like YUVA - Mumbai, PRIYA - Delhi, JANAAGRAHA - Bangalore, Janwani - Pune Centre for Enviornmental Education- Pune, Avantha Foundation - Pune, Mahila Housing Trust -Ahmedabad etc.

Dr. Joshi is a former Chief Accounts Officer of Vadodara Municipal Corporation with more than 20 years of experience in Vadodara Municipal Corporation. During his service he conceptualised, designed and implemented Municipal Financial, Budgetary and Accounting System Reforms and their computerization in Vadodara Municipal Corporation.
