This year the Raquette River Blueway Corridor’s Advisory Committee will be hosting several signature events throughout the corridor to capture the assets the Raquette River has to offer. Most importantly, there will be three screenings of a travel documentary on the Raquette River created through WPBS-DT. Signature events this year include:
WPBS-DT Screenings of “The Raquette River Experience”, a travel documentary about the Raquette River.There will be three screenings of the documentary. Refreshments will be provided with funding from Potsdam Specialty Paper.
There will also be three TV airdates for the documentary on WPBS-DT on Sunday, July 29th at 6:00 PM and 10:30 PM and on Tuesday, July 31st at 7:30 PM
Sunday July 29 - Official Opening of Canoe Access Trail to the Raquette River near Moody Falls
For a couple of years the Laurentian Chapter of the Adirondack Mountain Club has been working in conjunction with the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation to establish a new access trail to the Raquette River on conservation easement land near Moody Falls in Sevey Corners. The work is now complete and an official opening will take place at 10:00 AM . The location is on State Highway 56 about a mile north of the intersection of the 56 with State Highway 3 and is marked with a Canoe Access sign. A joint ADK Laurentian Chapter/DEC event.
