Living Solar in Toledo, Ohio

This is the web site of Al and Mary Compaan designed to explain and show the performance of our solar electric system. We are living in a house covered with 4.3 kW of grid-connected photovoltaic panels and Al is commuting with a 1982 GMC S-15 pickup converted to a battery-powered electric. Since the batteries are charged from the house electricity, the truck is also solar-powered!

The PV project for our home was partially funded by the Ohio Department of Development's Office of Energy Efficiency through a 2004 Energy Loan Fund Grant. The 2006 solicitation can be found at:
