вещи, лакомства, игрушки!

Вот бы булка состояла

из изюма и горбушки,

вот бы отпуск не кончался

и не пачкались обновки,

вот бы чаще возвращался

папа из командировки!

Sweets and toys, I’m afraid,

are far from ideal and amazing.

If only the bun was made

of only the crust and raisins,

if holidays never adjourned

and clothes had no stains or rips,

if only my dad could return

more often from business trips!
