Monterey Peace & Justice Center, 1364 Fremont ,Seaside . 831-899-PEACE or 899-7322. The library, reading room, art gallery and meeting space is open Wednesdays and Saturdays from from 1:00 pm to 5:30 pm. Regular Meetings and events are held at (or sponsored by) MPJC.

Women’s International League for Peace and Freedom, Monterey Branch, 6:30 pm, on the third Monday at the Monterey Peace & Justice Center. An international organization working to support policies that promote peace. Founded in 1915, WILPF has taken action for ninety years to oppose war and the root causes of war, and to promote peace, social justice, racial equality and women’s empowerment. All are welcome. ENGLISH as a SECOND LANGUAGE

Classes in English as a Second Language (ESL) are ongoing at the Center. Thursdays, 6:00 – 8:00 pm. No advance registration is required. Walk-ins are welcome. Some English is needed to participate. Free. For more information: Contact Susan Morse, smorse21st@gmail.com 915-8691 .

ART GALLERY

The walls of the Monterey Peace & Justice Center have become an art gallery with a new exhibit every other month. Gallery space is available for artists and photographers to present their work. Themes representing the mission of the Center are: Peace, Non-violence, Social Justice, Democracy, Diversity and Environmental Sustainability.
