Black Ray of Fleshparting
DESCRIPTION
A physical black ray of razor edged obsidian lances out to strike any target within range; in order to hit the target you must make a ranged touch attack. The black ray scythes quickly and effortlessly through the target, causing 1d6 points of damage per caster level (maximum 10d6) and causes the target to bleed for 1 point of damage per round. The ray has a critical threat range of 18-20, and does double damage on a successful critical hit. Against creatures immune to critical hits, the black ray of fleshparting does only 1d4 points of damage per caster level. The ray of obsidian lasts only for an instant, long enough to gouge a great wound in the target before vanishing. Although it is magically created, the ray inflicts physical damage and as a result cannot be blocked by spell resistance. It is treated as a +1 weapon for purposes of penetrating damage reduction.Section 15: Copyright Notice - Villains: RebirthVillains: Rebirth. Copyright 2003, Bastion Press, Inc.
