Satinder's Active Combat System

Here is where I'll be exploring the ideas that make up my active combat system (or Count-Up Initative, or whatever you want to call it). The idea here isn't new; it's been explored in other systems like Aces and Eights, Scion, and another one with "Hero" in the name (though I can't for the life of me remember the full title). The concept is that combat doesn't take place in neat little six-second increments, but that it is a constantly flowing and changing thing. As such, a more "realistic" (a dangerous word to throw around, I know) approach to combat is one wherein combat begins at point 0, and from that point forward each action that a character performs takes a certain amount of time. To that end, there are no turns. Character's actions interweave and flow forward together organically, rather than in mechanical chunks. This is a fairly huge undertaking, and a drastic departure from the established rules, but Pathfinder is the point where I want to start my version of this project.
