DESCRIPTION

Channel bolt can only be cast in a round where the cleric or paladin is using the channel energy class feature.  If the caster does not channel energy in the same round that channel bolt is cast, the spell has no effect.

Channel bolt causes the caster's channel energy attempt to have the shape of a line instead of a sphere.  The line starts either in the caster's square or in a square adjacent to the caster and travels away from the caster to a distance equal to the caster's caster level times 10 feet.  The line is 5 feet wide.  Note that when this spell becomes available to a cleric at third level, it does not actually extend the range of the channel energy ability, though it does exclude most of the normal area of a channel energy attempt from the effect.  At higher levels it allows the effect to reach a greater distance away from the cleric than would normally be possible.
