A shadow magus prefers to strike when his enemies are most vulnerable, taking them by surprise and eliminating greater threats quickly. The shadow magus is an archetype of the magus class. At 4th level, a shadow magus gains 1d6 sneak attack; this functions as the rogue ability of the same name. His sneak attack damage increases by +1d6 for every 3 levels beyond 4th (7th, 10th, etc.) to a maximum of +6d6 at 19th level. This ability replaces spell recall and improved spell recall. At 7th level, a shadow magus may, as a swift action, apply the benefits of the Silent Spell metamagic feat to a spell he is casting; this does not increase the casting time or the level of the spell. Using this ability requires the shadow magus to expend a number of points from his arcane pool equal to the spell’s level (minimum 1). This ability replaces medium armor and knowledge pool. At 10th level, a shadow magus gains Uncanny Dodge, as the rogue ability of the same name. This ability replaces fighter training and heavy armor. A shadow magus gains access to the following magus arcana. He cannot select any arcana more than once.
