Possessed of a great feral spirit, the lodge warrior is a vigilant defender of the elven people. The lodge warrior’s remarkable ability to channel the essence of one of the elder beasts gives her a significant advantage in combat, while she often spends the majority of her time outside of battle in quiet contemplation of her bestial connection to nature. Requirements
A lodge warrior must be an elf. At the GM’s discretion, a character of another race who speaks Elvish might also be a lodge warrior. TotemAt 1st level, the lodge warrior selects a totem from among the following: bear, falcon, owl, stag, or wolf. This selection cannot be changed, and it affects her choice of animal companions as well as the powers gained at various levels. Totem Companion (Ex)At 1st level, the lodge warrior must select an animal companion that matches her totem: bear, falcon, owl, stag, or wolf. This ability modifies animal companion. Totemic Focus (Su)At 1st level, the lodge warrior can use only the animal focus type that matches her totem: bear, falcon, owl, stag, or wolf. This ability modifies animal focus. Totemic Form (Su)At 6th level, the lodge warrior gains the ability to turn herself into the form of her totem animal and back again once per day. This ability functions like the beast shape II spell, except as noted here. The effect lasts for one hour per hunter level, or until she changes back. Changing form (to animal or back) is a standard action and doesn’t provoke an attack of opportunity. A lodge warrior loses her ability to speak while in totemic form because she is limited to the sounds that a normal, untrained animal can make, but she can communicate normally with other animals of the same general grouping as her new form. (For example, a wolf lodge warrior can communicate with all canines.) A lodge warrior can use this ability an additional time per day at 9th level and every three levels thereafter, for a total of five times per day at 18th level. At 12th level, the lodge warrior’s totemic form functions as beast shape III. This ability replaces the bonus teamwork feats gained at 6th and 12th levels and second animal focus. |
