Swan knights serve faithfully and work to restore the broken spirit of the people. Unwed swan knights must remain chaste, devoting themselves to the service of their merciful goddess and her worshipers. Edicts: Nothing brings a swan knight to anger faster than the violation of innocence and the victim’s cries for justice. Usually a swan knight feels compelled to give the victim her word that she will bring the perpetrators to justice. Once given, her oath is unbreakable, and a swan knight will prefer death to failure. Those swan knights who, for whatever reason, choose not to fulfill their promises find themselves stripped of their knighthood, deemed unworthy by the Redeemer herself. Challenge: When a swan knight issues a challenge against an enemy whom she has witnessed harming or violating the defenseless, she gains a +1 bonus on Will saves against all spells and abilities of the target of her challenge. This bonus increases by +1 for every four levels the cavalier possesses. Skills: A swan knight adds Knowledge (history) (Int) and Knowledge (local) (Int) to her list of class skills. Whenever a swan knight uses Diplomacy upon a non-evil creature, she receives a bonus on the check equal to 1/2 her cavalier level (minimum +1). Order Abilities: A swan knight gains the following abilities as she increases in level. Aura of Resolve (Su)At 2nd level, a swan knight is immune to charm spells and effects. Each ally within 10 feet of her gains a +4 morale bonus on saving throws against charm effects. This ability functions only while the swan knight is conscious, not if she is unconscious or dead. Aura of Courage (Su)At 8th level, a swan knight is immune to fear (magical or otherwise). Each ally within 10 feet of her gains a +4 morale bonus on saving throws against fear effects. This ability functions only while the swan knight is conscious, not if she is unconscious or dead. Vow to the Innocent (Su)At 15th level, once the swan knight issues a challenge against an enemy whom she has witnessed harming or violating the defenseless, she instantly knows the approximate distance and the direction of the criminal in question and can track him unerringly across great distances. Only spells that prevent scrying or detection by magic and that have a caster level greater than the swan knight’s cavalier level can shield the target from the swan knight as long as he remains on the same plane. |
