VIRTUS Training
All adults in the Archdiocese who work with or around children in parish schools and ministries are required to take the initial course, Protecting God's Children (PGC), the Archdiocesan-wide child sexual abuse awareness course. Once PGC is completed, the training is good for five years. After these five years, those who completed PGC are required to take a "refresher" course, Keeping the Promise Alive (KPA), which is good for another five years. Those who took the initial course, PGC, in 2003-2005, are required to take the refresher course, KPA, in 2012. Refer to the Pack 1928 Calendar for the most current offered training dates or you can also go to www.virtusonline.org to see dates and register. You can do this training at other churches in the Archdiocese besides POP. The VIRTUS online site will show ALL the training (both Protecting Gods Children and Keeping the Promise Alive Refresher) sites. |
New Year, New Requirements
Following on the heels of last year's 100% training completion rate, we are reminding all parents and leaders to ensure VIRTUS and Youth Protection Training (YPT) are completed or will not expire during the 2012-2013 scouting season. Those who have entered new jobs need to ensure Leader Specific Training is accomplished either online or in a BSA class.
Thank you in advance for your cooperation to achieve our 100% trained goal! |
