At Oregon School District: Since 2009 Places Taught: Tom has been teaching in Oregon for the past three years including positions at Prairie View Elementary, Rome Corners and the Middle School. Prior teaching experience includes 5th-12th grade strings at several schools in Oconomowoc Area School District. Tom has also run a private violin and viola studio for many years out of his home and also serves as a conductor at the UW-Whitewater Strings Camp held each summer. Professional Organizations: Member of the American String Teachers Association and the National Association for Music Education Other Interests: Tom's other interests include sports (mostly the Milwaukee Brewers and Green Bay Packers), building and keeping fish aquariums, composing and arranging music, languages, and cycling. |

Teaching Since: 1995 At Rome Corners Since: 2012 Courses Taught: Kay has taught 4th-12th graders and prior to coming to Oregon, taught at the New Berlin School District for 11 years and the Janesville School District for 6 years. She has served as violin coach for the Kenosha Public School Middle School Orchestra Retreat, and the UW-Whitewater Strings Camp and Chamber Retreat on many occasions, as well as serving as an orchestra director at the UW-Whitewater Strings Camp. Duties: Kay is the Director of Orchestras for Rome Corners Intermediate School Education: Bachelors Degree in Music Education from UW-Whitewater and a Masters Degree in Music (2005) from Northwestern University with an emphasis on Orchestral Development Awards/Honors: Kay was named the Public School String Teacher of the Year in 2012 by Wi-ASTA (Wisconsin Chapter-American String Teachers Association) Professional Organizations: Kay is currently a violinist and violist with the Kenosha Symphony Orchestra and a freelance performer. |
