Our Students in Action (SIA) team consists of six students from Brownsville Area High School who are actively involved in community service.  We have completed the planning of our predecessors of "Operation Falcon Revitalization" to revitalize our once flourishing town - Brownsville, Pennsylvania. We have recruited other students from the high school to assist in executing this project, and we have created a working bond with several members of the community.

Our Students in Action team has formed a collaboration with community organizations to create a park in the town square that is located directly on the main route through town, Market Street.  The first goal is to construct a stage that will attract performing arts events, creating a focal point to highlight the town square.

The Cast Iron Amphitheater

We have completed the construction of the Cast Iron Amphitheater. We officially opened the park on Friday, May 19, 2017 at our Ribbon Cutting Ceremony. The Ribbon Cutting featured a local upcoming band, Blended Reality, The Star Spangled Banner sang by Jayda Jones, My Hometown sang by Christian Sesek, the Megamix from Brownsville Area High School's High School Musical, and much more. We are thankful for all donations received from local businesses and organizations, and we are asking for donations toward the park's future festivities.  All donations will directly benefit the activities and maintenance of the park.

Everyone in the Brownsville community was especially excited to witness the development and opening of a project of such a great magnitude in our hometown.  The stage will be used to showcase the many hidden talents of the children of our community.  The development of this park will also provide the opportunity for students to find positive outlets for their energy and interests.  Getting the youth involved in this community project will encourage them to remain in the area upon graduation from high school and help to sustain the town’s vitality -- OUR town's vitality.
