Sergeant Ronald Butts

Sgt. Ronald Butts is the Peer Support Team Coordinator.  He is a 24-year veteran of the department.  He has served in the First, Second and Third Districts as a patrol officer or a supervisor.  He has been a supervisor since 2005 and been a Peer Support Team Member for over 7 years.  He as been an FTO, FTO Supervisor, CIT member, and has taken courses for advanced FTO training, advanced Peer Support training, Law Enforcement Suicide Prevention and Leadership in Police Organizations.  He has also attended North Carolina College of Theology and received an Associates of Science Degree in Theology. 

 
Sergeant Butts and his Peer Support Team are on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and are available to help however they can. 
 
Dr. Virginia (Ginger) Hays
 
Dr. Hays earned a B.S. from Tufts University and a Ph.D. in Counseling/Clinical Psychology from The Catholic University of America. 
 
She has been director/team leader of the OHR Stress Management Team for MCPD since 1994.  Prior to beginning her work with SMT in 1989, she provided similar services to the Fairfax Police Department. 
 
Licensed in Maryland and Virginia, Dr. Hays is a member of the Police and Public Safety Section of APA's Division 18 (currently Past-Chair), Maryland Psychological Association, and the IACP Police Psychological Services Section.

Dr. Oliver Stone

Dr. Stone earned a B.A. from The George Washington University and a Ph.D. from Northwestern University.

He has been a psychologist with the OHR Stress Management Team for the MCPD since 2016.  Prior to beginning this work, Dr. Stone was a psychologist with the Federal Bureau of Prisons.

Licensed in Maryland, Dr. Stone is a member of the American Psychological Association and the International Association of Chiefs of Police.
